INSTALLATION OF THE HOBBLE-CLAMP

Use
the Hobble-Clamp manufactured for this particular unit
-
Install
it on the walking beam, 6-to-12” behind the horse head or
throat pin, at the point previously measured, with hook facing
the horse head or throat pin
-
Use
the appropriate number of shims to insure the side plates
make contact with the beam and the center block at the same
time.
There must be NO gaps between the
side plates and the center block.

Use
a minimum of 100 to 150 foot pounds of torque on both 5/8”
grade 8 bolts
-
Use
.047 stainless steel safety lock wire through bolt heads to
insure they do not back off

Use
wire-twister cutting pliers such as McMaster-Carr or
equivalent
-
Use
only the Hobble-Clamp manufactured for the specific pumping
unit or a walking beam of equal dimensions.
The Hobble Clamp is not designed or manufactured to be
interchanged in whole or in part with other units not of the
same dimensions.

INSTALLATION IN ANY MANNER OTHER THAN EXACTLY PURSUANT TO THE
